Hope For Creation, the day of prayer on climate change, took place nationally and globally on Sunday 6th November 2011.

In a single day, thousands of Christians mobilised in powerful prayer to our Creator God.

Globally, over 60 countries took part.

In Australia, we received over 110 registrations from churches and others, representing over 6000 participants who attended Sunday services and joined in prayer on the day.

Take Action

This December, all the world’s leaders will be gathering in Durban, South Africa, to respond to climate change issues. We are asking the President of these UN Climate Talks to hear our voice and work for the best possible outcome from this vital meeting.

Here are some snippets:

“The Hope for Creation services at St Marys Anglican Church Sunbury today were really encouraging and challenging. Gavin Ward gave a terrific sermon and four people at each of our 8.30 and 10.30 services lead the congregation in prayer for creation, for those suffering through climate change and environmental destruction, for politicians and leaders, and for transformation of our own lives and community. Thanks for the spark to make this happen.” – St Mary’s Anglican Church, Sunbury

“I have loved reading all the stories about what other churches did for Hope for Creation. One of the great things about days like this is not only does it motivate us to do somethng, but that seeing what other Christians are doing can give us inspiration and hope. Well done…” – Participant, Canberra

“We had 15 people including children join together for the hope for creation prayer stations at Upwey. We put together 5 prayer stations using a combination of the Bible study and sermon resources as well as some of our own resources. When your all age worship resource came we added a few ideas from this as well! Thanks for all the resource material there was a lot of really usable stuff for us to work with.” – TEAR Outer-Eastern Suburbs Group and Holy Trinity Upwey, Victoria (photos attached)

“Used the Hope for Creation prayer resources in our traditional 10am service this morning at St Stephen’s Warrandyte. Beautifully crafted and a blessing to read and pray. Thank you! I shall use them again I’m sure!” – St Stephen’s Anglican, Warrandyte
